Becky Sherwin
Physical Therapist/Clinic Director
West Monroe

Degree: Master of Physical Therapy
University: Louisiana State University Medical Center Shreveport, LA 1998

COMT Spine Certification
: Becky Sherwin, PT, the only physical therapist Louisiana to have studied for and passed the IAOM certification exam in the area of cervical (neck), thoracolumbar (mid to low back) and SI joint (pelvic) pathology. The spine is highly complex, and Becky takes the extensive complexity of the reason for impingement, disc pathology, radiating pain or movement impairments and provides a more simplistic view for the patient to understand and to learn to self manage the pain at home. There is a very intensive examination which pinpoints the exact reason for the pain given a variety of very specific tests. When the evaluation is over, there is a clear understanding of the pain generator and a treatment plan is initiated to focus on the specific problems. Having Becky on our staff has greatly helped further the knowledge of all of our physical therapists, as we have regular in-house inservices to share her expertise.
